I ordered a green box and it’s now been fitted for a week.
I can’t believe the difference it has made to the driveability of this car. It has virtually eliminated the lag between 700rpm and 1800rpm which has nearly killed me a few times crossing intersections with oncoming cars.
Fuel economy has improved, even with my ‘testing’ of the unit during this tank of fuel.
I have the unit on setting 8 presently after driving around with the preset of 7 for a week. I’m finding 8 plenty of fun and not really tempted to dial it up to be honest.

I have an 2009 manual cdti with 92 000. Holden reckon I don’t need to change the cam belt until 120 000. What are your thoughts, should I do it before the warranty runs out at 100 000?

Question:
Relatively new CDTI owner and there have been teething problems. At present the black belgian is sitting in the workshop for the 2nd day with an intermittent clutch noise. When starting from cold (normally overnight) the clutch makes a foul knocking noise when engaged. A real grind – stops when the clutch is out – goes when it’s in. If you start moving (esp in reverse) she knocks foul as you start to let the clutch out. As soon as the car warms (5 -10 minutes) it goes. Dealer can’t diagnose it and (I suspect!) thought I was being precious until I kind of demanded that the car be parked overnight and that I be there to do the cold start to prove that the problem wasn’t the ABS self-check. Theyv’e now seen it in action and are drawing blanks. I’ve looked online (UK mainly) and the DMF flywheels are meant to be a massive problem with these cars. Apparently Opel/Vaux have revised the part supplier and have been fixing them enmasse under warranty. Has anyone in Aust had similar experiences? Who was your dealer as I’d like to point mine towards them for discussion! Astra H CDTi, according to the specs, 52litre fuel tank. Do both the dial above the taco and speedo…and the electronic display. tell me i am almost empty after only 40L. this causes me to get a max of 630-650kms per tank before it flashes up telling me my range is under 50km. and when i fill it. i can only ever get 40L in…so i know the reading is true…surely it can’t be a 12 litre reserve…anyone else had the same problem? Oh..and btw…my avg use is 6.3l/100km so i should be getting 800+ kilometers per tank….can dealer fix this?

I don’t usually let it get beow 1/4 full so I am not sure how much is left once you hit the E. I’d ask the dealer about it…sorry to be of little use

I know absolutely bugger all about wheels and tyres so i’ll put up the basics.
I’m looking at putting 18″s on my Astra H CDTi but was just wondering what sort of offset i need…what width will fit etc…i was looking at tyres first (no idea why) and saw 235/40R18 and 225/40R18 which is 9 and 8.5inches wide respectively yeah? Would the rims that fit these tyres fit fine without rubbing etc
